Krista gonÇalves

Background - professional:
Krista possesses a Bachelor of Science in Biology with courses in Human Kinetics & Nutrition. Her professional background is wide ranging. From conducting biological research in Washington, DC and the Cayman Islands to coordinating health & environmental programs for local schools, community & corporate groups under the direction of such non-profit organizations as the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Lifesaving Society and the David Suzuki Foundation. With over 15 years of diverse professional teaching experience and a true passion for promoting balanced health, she feels her contribution to this ever-growing field is not only important but rewarding.

Personal: On a personal level, Krista is an avid outdoors person who enjoys boating, scuba diving, hiking, and trail running. What most people don't know about her, and are often surprised to hear, is that she has had to overcome is her own issues with weight and body image. Wanting to take something positive from this difficult experience and incorporate it into her professional life, Krista has allowed this journey to better connect her with clients and genuinely understand their needs.  Also, being a mother of an energetic toddler gives her firsthand experience of just how hard it is for those parents out there trying to juggle kids, work and fitting in regular exercise!
